The Second annual Double Down Challenge Circuit Race will take place on August 11,2012. One day,two races,and one potentially huge payout! Do you have what it takes to Double Down?
The Double Down Challenge features two circuit races at the Carolina Motor Sports Park in Kershaw,SC with a total cash purse of up to $9000!
The course offers a 14-turn,2.28 mile,36 feet wide track on flat to moderately rolling terrain.
Here’s how the Double Down works:Races will be run for each Category in the morning (clockwise) and afternoon (counterclockwise). Win both races and we’ll double your payout!
Example:
Win the morning or afternoon Pro 1/2 and we’ll pay you $350 per race. Win both and we’ll Double Down your payout. That’s $1400 cash money!

Day of registration begins at 6:30 am,Saturday,August 11,2012 and incurs a $10.00 late fee (per race).
USA Cycling One-Day license (Men Cat 5 and Women Cat 4 only): $10.00
Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) Gate Fee:
$5.00 for Spectators 12 and up
Racers are free.
Day Garages:
Racers and/or teams may rent the open air day garages for $25.00 for the day.
There are 24,15’x25’ bays in the garage and they will be rented on a first come-first served basis. To reserve your day garage please call the track at (803) 475-2448.

ABOUT CMP &TRACK LAYOUT:
Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) is a 2.23 mile,36 foot wide,14 turn paved race car track on flat to moderately rolling terrain located near Kershaw,South Carolina. Construction began on the track in 1998 with the full 2.3 mile road course opened in July 1999. The site is an old World War II fighter-training base located about four miles south of Kershaw and seventeen miles north of Camden on Highway 521 in South Carolina. It is approximately one hour drive south of Charlotte International Airport and one hour east of Columbia. The facility includes a 0.70 mile go-kart track with rental karts,a concession stand,restrooms with showers,a vendor area with electrical hookups,a camping area with electrical service,free wireless internet and a 24 bay open air garage.
Camping at the track is available (Friday night only). The go-kart track will be open race day for go-kart rentals when you are not racing bikes or visiting the vendor area.
